RENE LABRE: LIVE SHOWS?

Oct 15, 2011 JF Kicks Saturday night live Rene labre with t-blue Brandon Fl usa

Blew the roof off the joint! One major problem with this very lovely club. They serve food so it is a non-smoking bar.Who in the world ever heard of a non smoking bar?hey are losing a ton of money because you can't smoke in the bar. They have fitration systems I have seen in clubs that suck all of the smoke out of the air and the smell too.But that is America today,They come up with idiotic law after law designed to make your business fail.To make it harder and more expensive to even get off the ground let alone succed as an independent businessman. How did we come to elect the people that are in office? These total dirtbags? When there are totally competant people out there that will give you more than you money's worth.Yet with no say in the matter we have to re-invest our limited recources again into people that are incompetant.3rd string personnel.Benchwarmers.In charge. Our so called leaders.Who in truth in the USA are nothing more than a bunch of drunks, rich and slovenly drunks.Nasty from word one.dirtbags.I met such a lovely lady tonight,Sophie. She was getting into the music. On breaks I was dancing with my friend Tina.I was looking out from the stage at Sophie. She looked so pretty and was trying to be happy yet inside she was all torn apart.and we made her happy,we talked and joked with her on a night hwere she wanted to hear some live blues and hang with some people she felt safe with. She danced all by herself.Tina and Nancy got up to dance so she could come out and shake it and have some fun.a guest guitar player came in and jammed who was hot as a firecracker.T-Blue let him do his thing.I hope they ask us back again,I hope I see sophie again.I would like to be her friend.

Jan 22, 2011 B.B.Magee's Irish Pub Spring Hill Fla. USA

Back to the roots tonight with T-blue and the danceband, riding in the back of the van with the equipment like a teenager again! To actually a very posh juke in the woods.Did a photo shoot on break with our dear Rebecca. This club has a spotless bathroom and is very, very clean. The stage is well built large and solid. We performed to 30 people though in a club that could seat 100.there was/is a problem, the club does not advertise in the local newspaper and local radio. There is no marquee in front of the club stating "LIVE MUSIC TONIGHT!"I am baffled by a business that does not have an advertising budjet as a part of their business plan.My business management degree came with a focus upon advertising administration and I work in the advertising business handling the needs of lofty clients such as Walmart,Best Buy,Comp Usa,Publix,Rooms To Go,Home Depot. These businesses spend a fortune on advertisement,Why?Because they would go out of business without it.And a posh club like this need not spend a fortune advertising.Well I can't lay out $1200 bucks to run radio and the newspaper this week. You have a campaign going you see,you create an event such a Biker Night or ladies half price drinks on Friday's and then you post it for your $1200 invested you knock down 3 grand on Friday night and your pub is now on the map as a hot spot.So now you can set up a website and work it and work better deals with the newspaper and radio. And this club is a cool hangout spot..four regulation pool tables, full liqour bar, free wiki, six dartboards,12 cable tv's,live entertainment with a large dance floor.Very cool owner and pro staff. If you are in business and do not advertise, have a big red arrow pointing to you, you are not going to be in businees to long because you are not going to have enough customers to support your business.

Dec 31, 2010 Gasoline Alley Largo Fla USA

The event was cancelled due to a fire.So I have new Years Eve off.Yet I am itching to play....hummm?
And so I am going to go out "dive bombing." Crashing a couple of parties with my guitar and amp and see if I can get the band to let me join them in any capacity onstage.I will record it all for you. Will they even let me get up there? We shall see won't we?

Dec 30, 2010 The Orpheum Tampa Florida US

A good show and happy that I did it.The Orpheum was cool ballroom with groovy people and Afton Shows was organized and very professional.A great tool for an emerging artist.

Jan 13, 2007 Unknown Some city Fl?

The third show was cancelled the club decided to have karoke that night.

Jan 13, 2007 Sleepy Ho;;ow Bikefest Bushnell Fl.

Yes, it was out in the woods, we performed on a trailer that was cut in half and made into a stage.Still it was beautiful weather and a great show. The show we found out was a benefit to build a children's park and was successful in raising the funds. We got a box of cupcakes as a tip. Cool!

Jan 12, 2007 Shakers Lounge Spring Hill Fl Usa

Shaker's waa a good show. The pub was really nice with a small stage. On the last set we had a jam session with some local people.Got some new song ideas out of that.We have two different sets of equipment a little rig for clubs and a large one for outdoor or bigger shows. In a club we rarely mic anything and just run it from the stage.Maybe the kick drum and the bass goes direct.I see a lot of bands in small places with double stack marshalls and a 24 track mixing board. It takes us 25 minutes to tear down and split.Alot of the problems that come up with club owners not wanting live bands is that it is to loud.In this age of master volumes there is not reason for that. you should be able to get a nice fat distorted sound at a resonable volume level.People coming to clubs are not necessarily coming to see led Zepplin in concert, they are coming to socalize, and at the start of the night they are not relaxed. later on when everybody has a buzz, well you can do them in. But if you blast them out at the first set and they have to sit at the bar and shout at each other they are generally gonna leave.Hence the bar doesn't sell any booze, the staff is not getting tips, and your band is not going to be back. Then the owner goes.hmmm I could hire a dj or karoke for 75 bucks instead of 300 and then not only is your band out of work but so are all the other groups left with one place less to play.In Tampa, our base there is no play to play and this is a city that once had a very active club scene. Most of the time we have to make a 120 mile round trip to perform.

Dec 14, 2006 B.B. Maggee's Town Pub Spring Hill Fl USA

It was good to be back. Very nice pub-big and clean. I was late and missed the first set and the band got docked 25 bucks, my day job booked me on an off day, knew I had to play the gig which was 62 miles away and wouldn't let me leave until 7 pm the time I was supposed to be onstage. Not setting up or arriving-ONSTAGE PERFORMING. I WAS ASKED WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT YOUR JOB OR THIS BULLSHIT! I book my gigs around my job and this bullshit was 250 people waiting for me to play. and the money that I get paid is just as green and it is very important if you are a band to be promt, not just prompt ..early,there is always a last minute emergency on a gig, lost a guitar strap, forgot to by picks, a shorted cable. Your mic stand got stolen at the last gig.you can deal with it relaxed. I think it is a blessing that people are happy to pay me to sing and play. I've been doing it since I was twelve years old.It is important to me to give an audience it's money's worth. That is why we are always working. The show went very well to a full house and I apologize for being late, it could not be helped.

Dec 8, 2006 Quaker Steak And Lube St.Pete Fl

One of those little surprises we get fromtime to time-a perfect audience. It was an outdoor show and from song one the cheering began and did not cease till the end of the night. the kind of gig that keeps you going you see...

Dec 6, 2006 BEER SHED RIVERVIEW FL. USA

THIS ONE WAS NICE, BACK TO SEE OUR FRIENDS AS IT WERE. JUST T AND ME SITTING ON CHAIRS PLAYING SOME MUSIC. ER...STRUMMING UP A SING-SONG AND HAVING SOME FUN. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN WORKING LIVE IN SOME FASHION. SINCE I WAS TWELVE YEARS OLD.I HAVEN'T BEEN LISTING DATES BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN BUSY GETTING THE CD READY. A GOOD NIGHT TONIGHT.

Jun 16, 2006 B.B. Magee's Irish Pub Spring hill Fl. USA

Another night on the road with my friend T-Blue, this was a biker night show (we do a lot of these) sponsored by the Tobacco Depot Cigar Importers and we played to a full house. The drummer,David Hughes, who also appears on "The Easy Ride" sessions has been with us for a number of dates now and is gettin' really tight with the band.

Jun 15, 2006 Recording session-leggacy audio Largo fl usa

This was a long day at the studio as evidenced by the film footage. Ms. Parisianne worked very hard and patiently and has come up with a blinder on her feature with the band, we send also our thanks to Wayne, the recording engineer for the terrific job he is turning in on this tune.

Jun 9, 2006 Goodfellas Pub Tampa Fl USA

Well tonight was a mindblow all the way, the T-Blue band, which by the way is a dance band was up onstage workin' away when in walks 22 year old Michelle Parisianne, a singer with The Rene Labre Group with her parents. She came up to the stage and tore apart "Proud Mary" the John Fogerty composition and the pub warmed up to the sound of applause. Then Then T-blue and Rene changed instruments between guitar and bass and then they rocked over the Rolling Stones classic "Satisfaction" with Michelle wailing it out like Mariah carey just went to the old school.A Jewel number "Dreams Last For So Long" Brought down the temperature to teardrops. Michelle started to leave the stage when the drummer, David Hughes, stated "come on luv, just do one more won't you?" what followed was a rendition of the studio single "The Easy Ride" and original collaboration by her and Rene sucsessfully bringing down the house. As quickly as she came she disappeared..This young lady is going to grace the cover of Rolling Stone one fine day and you may quote us on that.

May 20, 2006 LEGACY AUDIO PRODUCTIONS UNDISCLOSED USA

The sessions have been going very well. We are using a pro-tools rig which I am familar with. I have to give out a thanks to Dale Mabry Hitches and the owner Jim Boyd (pop) for loaning me the guitars I am using on the sessions. Jim has a collection of over 500 of them that he is kind enough to let me pick and choose from. Onstage I can walk up with anything and work it but on a session which becomes a fixed sound, one desires to have different tones and colors from the separate tracks. I do all of the guitar work on the records but don't want it to sound like just one dude is doing it. I don't really like recording, it is very clinical and antiseptic not to mention expensive yet one must do what one must do in order to be heard and over the years I have learned pretty well how to do it via much trial and error. This session is primarily an acoustic one with the rhythm being done on a twelve string backed up intermittently by a six. The bass was done on my fender Jazz. probably I will put some more 12 on it but may use a gut string instead. The excitement comes to me on the fact the vocalist on this session is 22 year old Michelle Parisianne so a younger voice and attitude is instilled to the song making it vital for today. I have been rocking for a long, long time and always try to change up cause I still want to play without getting stuck in a rut. I play bass sometimes with a much younger bar band in order to keep up with new material and styles. Still when I do a record the old school is there reason being that it is the best way. And it can fit easily with the new school and the time is coming where people will barely play anymore it will all be computers doing it, that makes me want to puke.

This was our second show of the day after the catshit debacle. It went well the owner of the club would never spaek with us cause the other groups around town slagged us so bad. he liked us a lot and agreed to book us thius summer. COOL BEANS MAN!

Apr 22, 2006 Beer shed Riverview Fl usa

This was a show we did for Eileen the owner who is running for Mayor. We were doing two show's today. The problem was we had to set up in a sand box in front of the club. apparently this was the personal litter box for the club's cat.also all of the beer bottles for the club were broken up here for recycling so in laying down the backline chords we got catshit on our fingers and glass shrouds in our hands. This was both stinky and painful...ahh such is fame!
