RENE LABRE The One,the only!

It has been a long and bleak 6 years since Rene labre has taken the stage in his own name,doing his own thing.In 2004 came the release of "(oo) (oo) I've been Calling "which was a most add to secondary broadcast US radio rising to number one of the top 40 up and coming chart of New Music Weekly,holding that postion for 2 weeks edging out Maroon 5's "This Love Is Breaking My Heart" For the number one spot.In 2003 Mr labre graced the cover of that Los Angeles magazine for the memorial day issue beghind his first number One,"Stagelight lover." it was very upsetting for the major labels to see a nobody crowding out their major artisis and request lines so they ordered the stations to stop airplay of The Rene Labre group.devestating the groups first US tour and reducing Mr. labre. a single parent to living with his 14 year old son on the beach in a volkswagon van."They just crushed me like a bug,overnight the airplay was dropped,,,24 hours nationwide,we were preparing to tour clubs in the cites that were playing us and visit doing shows for the stations.I mortgaged my house for that tour and the radio promo and we had hit hard and were rising fast,packing out the club we were playing to rehearse the concert.And boom!The airplay stopped and the gigs were cancelled.My touring band of 12 years deserted me,I had to walk out on stage all alone and do the best that i could.I lost our home and everything we had except our love.We thought that we had finally made the grade and were ready to go up a step,go out and get known in the US,we attacked perfectly through secondary broadcast,which at that time was not as controlled by the majors,our airplay was not drive time of course,not at first,they would play us at 3 in the morning and the stations would start receving calls....Who is THAT group? It was when we were getting drive time airplay,and the stations were really cool about it,that we popped up on the major labels radar.They are playing us instead of Maroon 5 ( I am a fan of maroon5) with such ease...overnight actually they crushed us,this was BEFORE the days of you tube.No way was MTV going to broadcast our video.we were done like dinner." Rene Labre is alive and well and this is his first show in six years.Unplugged,crucial, and vital." I did not book it i was requested by the manager to do it.I am actually covering for T-Blue who has another engagement to play.I never stopped performing live anyway that I could,but I was the supporting member of a cast,not the leader,it was like the old days of club dates,I was there to be a firecracker when needed and a sideman the rest of the time.Plus I am a single parent who has to work to pay the rent.Leaving me not the time nor resource to form a new band.Nor even the desire really,I already had formed the tightest group with the touring band with Chip and Marvin.Our musical vision together had no boundries and we had overcome so much." Yet it is what it is and Rene Labre is returned to you live.unplugged and so sweet!We are his publisher and we never left him nor wavered in our belief and comittment to him.He got worked over quickly by the big dogs.But they were wrong and mis-judged his tenacity.He is persistant,he is consummate.And this may be his final night on the town.Don't miss it!
