I did not set out that way,umm I had a gift,a precious one and was very schooled at piano,which I did not want to play,I wanted to play the electric guitar and only that.Out of necessity it turned out that I had to do more.My first record deal,we could not afford to hire session players,so I had to do it.And it just came to be that way.I was still doing ALL of the guitar parts yet if you are not studied in terms of music theory,knowing the range of an instrument and how to pull a tone from it,it is going to sound real cheezy.A bunch of very broken down basic nonsence.The union strongly questioned my abilities-You can't list that unless you have played it on a job.But they did "grandfather" me in as a teenager.I use to play a thing called a chordavox and then switch to guitar to add some fireworks to a show.And really I am a lead singer.What people want me to do is sing.Yet one day I am gonna be gone and it is my recording sessions that will live on.Nor did I do it all.I have got to have a good drummer.I blew it all out in the studio.Man oh man,and did it all my way.I called ALL of the shots.One of my big faves is the cover of The Rolling Stones "Tell Me (your coming back)"I have a license for it so I can do it,I would have liked to hear Roy Orbison do that one.Why don't you check it out?I am going to right now!
